# How long does installation take?

How long the Power Monitor installation takes and what affects the time until the first data appears.

The **installation wizard** takes, on average, **just a few minutes** when the person installing has the required permissions at hand. The time until **all data** appears depends on the size of your tenant, because the first scans go through all the chosen workspaces.

### Why is it fast?

Power Monitor is **100% SaaS**: there is no server, agent, or software to install in your environment. Installation consists of registering the Power Monitor application in your Microsoft Entra ID, granting the consents, and choosing the monitored workspaces. In the [automatic installation](/en/readme/como-instalar-o-power-monitor/instalacao-automatica.md), the wizard itself creates the application and applies the Fabric settings.

### Process steps

1. **Sign in** with the tenant's Microsoft account and choose the region.
2. **Organization and Billing:** company details, billing emails, due date, and consent to automatic billing at the end of the trial.
3. **Installation type:** automatic (recommended) or manual.
4. **Consents and application configuration** in Entra ID and in Fabric.
5. **Acceptance of the terms**, which activates the organization and starts the 30-day trial.
6. **Additional permissions and capacity metrics source** (optional, in the automatic installation).
7. **Workspace selection** and **environment preparation**, with the first scans.

### What can make the installation take longer?

* **Different people for each permission.** The Entra ID Global Administrator and the Fabric Administrator are often different people. The installation completes with the Entra ID account, but data collection only works after a Fabric administrator enables the tenant settings.
* **Tenant size.** Tenants with thousands of workspaces take longer on the first full scan.
* **Propagation at Microsoft.** Newly granted tenant settings and permissions may take a few minutes to take effect.

### Do I need support to install?

It is not required: the process is guided. But if you prefer, our team performs the installation together with you:

* [Chat on WhatsApp](https://powermonitor.com.br/whatsapp)

### Does the installation require any infrastructure?

No. Power Monitor does not require a dedicated server, agent installation, firewall configuration on the local network, VPN, or a direct connection to your environment. All access is done through the official Microsoft APIs in the cloud.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.powermonitor.com.br/en/perguntas-frequentes/duvidas-gerais/quanto-tempo-demora-para-instalar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
