# How to install Power Monitor?

Learn how to install Power Monitor in your tenant, start the free 30-day trial period and choose between automatic and manual installation.

Power Monitor is installed **entirely through the browser**, using a guided wizard. There is no server, agent or software to install in your environment: Power Monitor connects to your Microsoft tenant through Microsoft's official APIs, by means of an **application (Service Principal) registered in your Microsoft Entra ID**.

When the installation is complete, the **free 30-day trial period** begins, with no credit card required.

{% hint style="warning" %}
In practice, it is common for the Azure/Entra administrator **not** to be a Fabric administrator. The installation completes anyway, but warns that data collection **will only work** after a Fabric administrator enables the tenant settings. See [Prerequisites](/en/technical-documentation/instalacao/pre-requisitos.md).

## Wizard overview

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Go to the site and sign in with your Microsoft account

Go to [powermonitor.com.br/instalacao](https://powermonitor.com.br/instalacao) and click to install. You will be taken to the Microsoft sign-in page; sign in with the account of the tenant you want to monitor. If your account does not yet have an organization in Power Monitor, the installation wizard opens automatically.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose the region and language

Specify where your organization is located (**Brazil**, **Americas**, **Europe**, **Asia-Pacific**, **Africa and Middle East** or **Oceania**). The region sets the wizard's default language: Brazil uses Portuguese and pre-fills the country and currency; the other regions use English and ask for the country and currency in the next step. You can change the language manually (Português, English, Español, Italiano, 日本語) and return to this screen with the **Change region** button.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Organization

Fill in the company details in **Set Up Organization**:

* **In Brazil:** registration type (**Company (CNPJ)** or **Individual (CPF)**), CNPJ/CPF (company details are retrieved automatically from the CNPJ), ZIP code (CEP), trade name, legal name and **Phone** (required).
* **Outside Brazil:** country, currency, legal name, trade name and company registration number.
* **WhatsApp** (optional): number with country code and area code, between 10 and 15 digits.
* **Time zone:** already filled in according to the country and changes when you change the country. It is used for the times in e-mails and alerts; search by city, region or UTC to choose another one. After installation, it can be changed in *Settings › Organization*, in the [Organization language and time zone](/en/power-monitor/configuracoes/organizacao.md#organization-language-and-time-zone) card.

Click **Start installation**.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Billing

In **Billing Information**, review the **Company Information** tab (legal name, address, tax registrations) and fill in the **Payment** tab:

* **Billing Emails** (at least one; press Enter or comma to add each email);
* **Billing due day** (between 1 and 28);
* **Billing recurrence** (how the due date is calculated);
* Contact email and additional information for the invoice (optional).

Finally, check the consent box **"I agree to the start of automatic billing after the end of the free trial period, unless I request cancellation beforehand."** and click **Save and Continue**. Without this consent and the required fields, the button does not proceed.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose the installation type

In **Installation Type**, choose how the Power Monitor application will be configured in your Entra ID:

* **Automatic Installation** (Recommended): the wizard automatically creates the App Registration, the Service Principal, the client secret and the security group, and applies the Fabric tenant settings.
* **Manual Configuration** (Advanced): you provide the credentials of an App Registration that already exists in your tenant.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Complete the chosen type

Follow the corresponding guide:

* [Automatic Installation](/en/readme/como-instalar-o-power-monitor/instalacao-automatica.md)
* [Manual Installation](/en/readme/como-instalar-o-power-monitor/instalacao-manual.md)

In both cases, the wizard asks you to accept the **Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Commercial Terms**, select the workspaces to monitor, and prepares the environment with the first scans.
{% endstep %}

## How to use

### How to choose the wizard's region and language

1. On the **Where is your organization located?** screen, click your organization's region.
2. (Optional) Under **Prefer a different language? Choose one below.**, choose **Português**, **English**, **Español**, **Italiano** or **日本語**.
3. Click **Continue**. To change it later, use **Change region**, at the top of the wizard, at any step.

### How to resume an interrupted installation

1. Go to [powermonitor.com.br/instalacao](https://powermonitor.com.br/instalacao) again and sign in with the **same Microsoft account** used before.
2. The wizard opens at the step where you left off, with the data already filled in.
3. Finish within 24 hours: installations with no activity for longer than that are removed and must be started over.

### How to cancel the installation

Use this before accepting the terms, if you want to give up or start over from scratch.

1. At the top of the wizard, click **Exit**. The **Cancel Installation** window opens, warning that everything filled in will be permanently removed.
2. Click **Yes, Cancel and Exit** to confirm, or **Continue Installation** to go back.

After the terms are accepted, the button at the top becomes **Exit installation**: **Yes, Exit** only ends the session, without removing anything, and you can resume when you sign in again.

## Rules and behavior

* **Resume later:** if you close the browser in the middle of the wizard, it resumes from where you left off when you sign in again.
* **Exit / Cancel Installation:** before the terms are accepted, the exit button **cancels the installation** and permanently removes the data filled in (organization, credentials and admin user). After acceptance, the organization is already active and the button only ends the session, without removing anything.
* **Abandoned installations:** an unfinished installation with no activity for more than **24 hours** is removed automatically. Just start again.
* **Whoever installs becomes an administrator:** the user who installs is the organization's first **Administrator** in Power Monitor and can invite others in [Users](/en/power-monitor/usuarios.md).
* **One tenant, one organization:** each Entra ID tenant corresponds to one organization in Power Monitor. See [How do I monitor more than one tenant?](/en/perguntas-frequentes/duvidas-gerais/como-monitorar-mais-de-um-tenant.md)

## Frequently asked questions

<details>

<summary>How long does it take?</summary>

The wizard takes, on average, a few minutes. The time until data appears depends on the size of the tenant, because the first scans go through all the chosen workspaces. See [How long does installation take?](/en/perguntas-frequentes/duvidas-gerais/quanto-tempo-demora-para-instalar.md)

</details>

<details>

<summary>The browser blocked the consent window. What now?</summary>

Allow pop-ups for Power Monitor in the browser's address bar and click the consent button again.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I entered a company detail incorrectly. Can I fix it?</summary>

Yes. Billing details can be reviewed later by an administrator in **Billing**. Organization details are in **Settings**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.powermonitor.com.br/en/readme/como-instalar-o-power-monitor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
